Another prestigious symphonic event. With the concert by the Orchestra della Toscana, the Filarmonica Laudamo in fact opens the celebrations for the 250 th anniversary of Mozart's birth. This is an event that will in fact be the underlying theme for the season creating inner symmetries so as to bring to audiences some of the composer's most beautiful music, especially thos more rarely performed. This is the case of the Maurerische Trauermusik KV 477 [Massonic funeral music ], a small jewel composed by Mozart that the ORT will perform at the beginning of the concert and the Sinfonia concertante KV 364 with the soloist violinist Marco Rizzi, «a musician of a surprising maturity, with a rich palette of sounds, a beautiful technique and an enchanting legato cantabile» ( Strad ). The programme is completed by Beethoven's Eighth Symphony . The ORT is ed by Gabriele Ferro, who as musical director for the Sinfonica Siciliana, the San Carlo in Naples, the Massimo in Palermo and the Stuttgart Staatstheater, has presented symphonic and opera productions that have been real international events.
