Tempvus Fvgit
«NEBBIU»
Tempvs Fvgit, a vocal ensemble providing a voice for time… Time that dreamily flows from the island of Corsica, the tempo of work of festivities, of religious rituals that still today maintain their archaic fragrance uncontaminated. Before the foundation of the Tempvs Fvgit Benoît Flori ( bass ), Hervé Muglioni ( second ) and Paul Giuntini ( third ) were choristers with the Confrérie de Furiani, while Patrick Vignoli ( contre-chant ) belonged to the Confrérie Speranza. They were joned by Eric Natali ( seconde basse ), Benoît Pelerin and Sebastian Bonetti ( basse ) to faithfully pass on and carry beyond the island a holy and profane polyphonic repertoire with extremely ancient origins. Nebbiu is the name of their most recent recording project, but also that of the Corsican Region the music of which passed on orally now fills today's concert. Standing in a circle the Tempvs Fvgit intone processional songs, hymns sung during Holy Week, parts of Masses in the ancient-Roman ritual as well as traditional melodies with strong Genoese, Sardinian and even Byzantine influences, which remain among the most haunting in the Mediterranean area.
