Enrico Dindo
I Solisti di Pavia
«They bring honour to Italian concert performances”. Enrico Dindo, born in Turin in 1965, has come a long way since 1987 when, still only twenty years old, he was chosen by Riccardo Muti as first soloist violoncello for La Scala Orchestra. Ten years later he became the first Italian to conquer the highest position at the “Rostropovic” in Paris: an international award for great talent. After eleven years at the ‘service' of one of the most sought-after orchestras he decided to ‘go it alone', and embarked on a brilliant career all over the world. In the year 2000 the National Association of Critics awarded him the Abbiati Prize as the best soloist. He now leads a chamber music orchestra of excellent quality, the Solisti di Pavia, and also manages an Academy that prepares the young professionals of the future” ( S. Consenzi ). With this young group of musicians, both as conductor and soloists, Enrico Dindo presents a beautiful programme with Hyaydn's first Concerto for violoncello and Mozart's Divertimento KV 138, the Andante cantabile for violoncello and strings and Cajkovskij's Serenade . These last two pieces have also been recorded in one of the two CDs recorded for Velut Luna, which in 2004 market the orchestra's recording debut.
