Fabrizio Meloni - Nazareno Carusi
In June 2006 Fabrizio Meloni, first solo clarinet
for the Orchestra at the Teatro alla Scala, and
Nazzareno Carusi, artist in residence at the Northeaster
University of Chicago, trained at the school belonging
to Alexis Weissenberg and Viktor Merzhanov, a
senior member of the Piano Faculty at the Moscow
Conservatory, where he later became an assistant,
have recorded an integral version of the Sonatas
by Brahms for Amadeus, which they now present
to the audiences of the Filarmonica Laudamo. The
CD, presented in a premier at La Scala, is an
important event in an artistic partnership that
started a few years earlier and was instantly
received by a standing ovation that acclaimed
the duo’s debut at the Carnegie Hall in
New York in 2004. «An entertaining syntony
and complementarity are the distinctive marking
of the cooperation between these two musicians»,
wrote Nicoletta Sguben about Fabrizio Meloni and
Nazzareno Carusi, who philologically and together
address with great poetry and beauty of sound
the intense pages written by Brahms, to which
they bring their experience as refined chamber
music players and as soloists accustomed to playing
with the most prestigious orchestras.
