Lavinia Meijer
Born in 1983, Lavinia Meijer graduated cum
laude from the Conservatories of Utrecht
and Amsterdam. Starting in 1997, she has won many
international competitions, such as the Dutch
Harp Competition, the Netherlands Harp Concours,
Prinses Christina Concours, International USA
Harp Competition, Reinl-Wettbewerb in Vienna,
International Harp Competition in Brussels, Lausanne
and Lille, and triumphed at the International
Competition in Tel Aviv which is considered the
most prestigious in the world. A leading performer
of world premier interpretations, she has played
at the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Concertgebouw
in Amsterdam, at the Cité de la Musique
in Paris, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Symphony
Hall in Birmingham, the Concert Hall in Athens,
the, Luxembourg Philharmonie, the Konserthus in
Stockholm, the Paleis voor schone kunsten in Brussels
and at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Her first
CD recorded in 2004 has music by Bach, Haendel,
and Scarlatti. At the Filarmonica Laudamo she
presents a programme that with music from the
past three centuries bears witness to her great
versatility.
