Eliot Fisk - Paco Pena
The duo formed by Eliot Fisk and Paco Pena is
certainly not a traditional one, but rather a
brilliant encounter between two stars
from the world of guitar players. Paco Peña
is one of the greatest flamenco guitarists there
is. Born in Cordoba, in Andalusia, he learned
his art within the family environment; during
the Sixties he left Spain and held a series of
recitals that inflamed the imagination
of audiences thanks to the manner in which he
revolutionises the archetypes of Spanish music.
The American Guitar’s Magazine
in fact named him the “Best Flamenco Guitarists”.
He then founded the “Centro Flamenco Paco
Peña” in Cordoba, became the Artistic
Director of the Cordoba International Guitar Festival,
and is first Professor of Flamenco Guitar in the
world, an appointment he holds at the Rotterdam
Conservatory. Elliot Fisk’s career is equally
filled with awards, and in the past season he
conquered audiences at the Filarmonica Laudamo
with a memorable concert. On that occasion he
announces he had started to work on a special
project for two guitars with his legendary flamenco
colleague; today this project has become reality
and the Association hosts the first appearance
in their Italian tour.
