Daria Grillo and Michelangelo Carbonara

A Sicilian flute player who has distinguished herself in the world of music and is appreciated by critics for her refined interpretative qualities, Daria Grillo has often played chamber music, a world in which she usually performs in formations that range from instrumental duos to chamber music orchestras. Her most recent partnerships have been with the ethno-classic ensemble “I Tersicore”, with whom last summer she held a wonderful concert for the Laudamo Philharmonic at the Roman Villa in Patti, and with pianist Michelangelo Carbonara, the youngest musician in history to graduate from the Santa Cecilia National Academy, matching the record held by Daniel Barenboim. Their successful artistic encounter resulted in a series of concerts that took the two young musicians to perform in prestigious theatres and play for famous cultural institutions. We will listen to Daria Grillo and Michelangelo Carbonara in un programme based on early 20th Century Paris with its impressionism, symbolism and “Hispanicisms” which includes Il fauno, a rare page of music by Toscanini’s flute player, Arrigo Tassinari, on which Daria Grillo has written the first important essay.
