Gabriele
Carcano
Gabriele Carcano is a promising young musician
in the world of Italian concerts. Born in Turin
in 1985, he started to study the piano when he
was eight years old and in 1999 and was admitted
to the Conservatory in his city where he graduated
in 2003 magna cum laude. He then perfected his
art with Andrea Lucchesini and Aldo Ciccolini,
and currently attends the National Superior Conservatory
in Paris where classes are held by Nicholas Angelich
and Pierre-Laurent Aimard. He has won many national
and international piano competitions since he
was very young. In November 2004 he was one of
the winners of the Premio Venezia, making his
debut at La Fenice Theatre. A scholarship holder
at the De Sono Association and at the CRT Foundation,
Gabriele Carcano today plays in recitals and with
chamber music ensembles. He made his debut as
a soloist with an orchestra in 2003 with Ravel’s
Concert in G, and two years later played Rachmaninov’s
Second Concert at the Regio Theatre in Turin achieving
great success. His beautiful programme for the
Laudamo Philharmonic Orchestra includes music
by Liszt, Debussy and Skrjabin.
