Camerata Strumentale “Città di Prato” - Alessandro Pinzauti - Boris Belkin

Forty-six young musicians under the age of thirty, from all over Italy and selected among seven hundred candidates, present today at the Laudamo Philharmonic one of the most interesting musical performances. The result of an idea that came to Riccardo Muti, the author of the group’s programme and often its conductor, the Camerata Strumentale “Città di Prato” was led in its first decade by important musicians such as Murray Perahia, Jonathan Webb and Gianluigi Gelmetti. The group has performed with the greatest classical and jazz soloists as well as with composers such as Philip Glass and Luciano Berio. On this Italian tour, sponsored by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities in cooperation with CIDIM and hosted by the most important concert institutions, the orchestra presents Cajkovskij’s Concerto with its permanent musical director and a prestigious soloist and violinist Boris Belkin, the protagonist of wonderful recordings for the Decca label conducted by Bernstein, Temirkanov, Mehta and Ashkenazy.
