The Vittorio Emanuele Theatre Orchestra
Laurent Campellone - Maria Miccoli

The Laudamo Philharmonic’s musical season opens with an event that is of great artistic importance and significance regards to increased cooperation between the city’s cultural organisations. This is the first of five events with the Vittorio Emanuele Theatre Orchestra in the lead role, on each occasions led by a prestigious conductor. This is a series of concerts produced by the E.A.R. Teatro di Messina MA in close cooperation with the three concert associations in Messina, whose season ticket holders will have free admission to the entire series of symphonies. For this first event, part of the Laudamo Philharmonic Orchestra’s season, the theatre’s young orchestra is conducted by Laurent Campellone, winner of the “Franco Capuana” International Competition for Conductors and the excellent conductor of the wonderful performance of Massenet’s Werther seen last season in this same theatre. A French conductor for a French musician, Hector Berlioz. We will listen to his Fantastic Symphony, the most original and enchanting among the romantic period symphonies, and also the Overture from Benvenuto Cellini and the opera scene from Cleopatra’s Death with solo singer Maria Miccoli, winner of the Spoleto - Belli 2000 Award International Competition.
