Giuseppe Andaloro
Giuseppe Andaloro’s career is constantly
growing and his commitments increase day by day.
He willingly returns to our city however, for
which he has a deep fondness. It was here in fact
that at the age of eight he won his very first
important event at the “City of Messina”
Piano Competition, followed by other increasingly
important successes such as winning First Prize
at the international “Sendai” and
“Casella” competitions in 2001, the
World Piano Competition in London in 2002, and
the “Busoni” in 2005. The Laudamo
Philharmonic Orchestra invited him before he won
this last competition, the most sought-after and
feared by young pianists, and last season hosted
his debut as a chamber music performer in a duo
with Sergej Krylov. He returns this year with
one of his typical composite and difficult programmes,
including music by Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy,
and Liszt, only a week before performing at the
Salzburg Mozarteum. In 2005 Giuseppe Andaloro,
who records for the Naxos label, won a Prize for
Artistic Merit from the Ministry for Cultural
Heritage and Activities.
