Roberto Saccà and Giannalisa Arena

The desire to discover and bring to audiences the many still unknown jewels of clarinet music written in recent centuries is the main characteristic of the performances of this young but already famous clarinet player from Messina, Roberto Saccà. So, next to the milestones of the repertoires for this instrument, he usually adds rare but no less significant scores that are wonderful to listen to. For his debut at the Laudamo Philharmonic, in addition to music compose by Bernstein, Poulenc and Françaix, he adds an incursion into late-romantic English music with two highly suggestive pieces such as Andante e Presto by Joseph Holbrooke and the Three Intermezzos by Charles Villiers Stanford. His partner at the keyboards on this journey around the clarinet is Giannalisa Arena, a refined pianist and chamber music performer, but also a harpsichordist who has won important competitions such as the “De Musica Antiqua” and “Paola Bernardi” European Competition in Bologna.
